MECAS ESI (MECAS)

MECAS ESI is one of 15 subsidiaries acting on territory of Middle and Eastern Europe. MECAS ESI has 65 employees with strong Technical department (35 engineers) performing R&D and engineering project in field of virtual prototyping. MECAS ESI technical team provides technical support and consultation in the field of simulations of: crash tests, structural limit states and multi-physical analysis, as well as virtual tests in field of passive safety, production processes, such as forming, casting, welding, heat treatment, or also test scenarios in vibroacoustics, flow dynamics and electromagnetic compatibility.

Department involved in the project

The project activities will be carried out by the technical department of MECAS ESI which is specialized in performing engineering and R&D projects in virtual prototyping

Main contribution to the project

MECAS will be involved in WP5: MECAS will provide its experience in simulations of manufacturing processes of composite parts and it performance in crash scenarios. Since a manufacturing process of a composite part may have a significant influence on crash / impact behavior, a chaining of manufacturing and crash simulations will be important for reaching required accuracy level in material dynamic behavior validation. Virtual prototyping approach will be validated for the new composite material by MECASE ESI experts.

Key people involved

Ing. Luděk Kovář, Ph.D. (Technical Director), is graduated in field of mathematical and computer modeling, Ph.D. in the field of Applied mechanics, experienced in project management, coordination of projects with international participants, initiation and evaluation of projects in field of virtual prototyping with coupling of multi-physical approaches.
