PERSPECTIVES

The major technological achievements resulting from LOWFLIP by implementing the developed processes into the transport sector are expected to be:

A 50% reduction of the investment costs for small, medium and large parts compared to current SoA technologies like ATL, AFP and RTM
A 50% reduction of the energy consumption during manufacturing compared to current SoA processes
A new raw material (semipreg)
A multifunctional handling and tape laying system for both large and small composite structures
Integrated tools for compaction, heating and curing
Simulation tools for draping systems, composite crash behaviour and resing integration
A proof of concept production cell
3 demonstrators for each of the partner end users (automotive, truck and aerospace industry)
